Despite all appearances to the contrary, Atlanta is as segregated now as it was 100 years ago. They may be out there but we don't know where. We cannot find the same types of access in other cities. We want our kids to be around the same type of people they are. Your reasoning is exactly why our family is staying firmly planted here. I came to this city to be around Black Upwardly Mobile Professionals and there are few cities in the US where I can get the large educated Black middle class and accompanying businesses that cater to it along with three airports and proximity to NYC so I'm not going to Richmond or Pittsburgh or even Atlanta since that is just one big suburb surrounded and split through by highways. If they don't need to come here for the jobs, they can meet other needs like "being around people" elsewhere and save a lot of money. It's not like DC has all the people, or all the restaurants. Plus, there’s usually someone paid less who can clean up the documentation…Īnonymous wrote:"People want to be around people" is a silly argument. The only people who think these skills are important (for technical roles) are the people who don’t understand the tech stuff. I literally do not care if you can write a sonnet or have memorized Strunk & White.
Ha! I’m also in tech and I can tell you that tech skills trump grammar and editing any day of the week. There is literally no such thing as an involuntarily employed tech worker unless your a total psycho or idiot.įor someone in a "dominant position" with their employer you should have better grammar, and editing skills. I job hope every few years foe mine money and more RSUs. Do you have an idea how hard it is to find skilled workers? The reason I've always worked from home is because I'm in the dominant position with my employer.
nothing worse than American downtons, all commerical buildings and are dead over 5pm and weekends. but at lot of people like iving in towns anyway, there will be a different use for commercial buildings, which is great. now may people realize that the same office could be shared by more people coming in different days so we woud need even less space, which would reduce costs and increase profits. I think the most affected will be commercial real estate (my office downtown, 8 floors for a lawfirml has been shrinking even before Covid, with half of a floor subrented to somebody else.
THE SONNET DC PLUS
Plus people also consider other things big cities offer, theaters, museums, cultural diversity, but also good hospitals, good education. if somebody can work there while paying living expenses in Alabama, they may accept less money for the advantage of teleworking all the time. employers in DC or SF now offer $$$$$ because they know their workers will have to pay $$$$$ to live in comnuting distance from DC and SF.
The remote and wall controls are inoperable during that time, after which the fan, remote control and wall control (if applicable) with be fully operational.Anonymous wrote:one thing to consider is that employers may offer less money to people to fully telework (i think some tech employers in SF have already said that employees may fully telework and ive elsewhere but will get a pay cut). Sophisticated DC Motor requires automatic 7-minute calibration period upon installation.
